Mathematical Misinterpretations

Idea from Wren Schultz

Phrases that can be misinterpreted by the mathematically inclined.  These can be tricky.  Sometimes, the misinterpretation is based on the spoken form of the phrase, and sometimes on the written form.

For extra fun, submit these in quiz form.  e.g. "Bartender's offering = 14"  (the answer is the name of a drink.)

These are great in quiz form, so that's how I've left them.  Answers at the bottom of the page.
